Mounts
A Living Mount System
Mounts are no longer simple items that sit in your bag forever.
In Mir Vengeance, every mount is a living companion that requires care, attention and maintenance. Hunger and Loyalty both decrease in real time, creating an ongoing relationship between you and your mount.
Unlike traditional systems, upkeep continues whether you are online or offline. Your mount continues to exist in the world even when you are not using it.
This applies regardless of where the mount is located:
- Equipped
- Inventory
- Storage
- Auction / Exchange
- Dropped on the ground
There is no way to avoid upkeep by logging off or storing the mount.
Your Mount’s Two Needs
Every mount has two core requirements:
Hunger
Hunger represents your mount’s physical well being.
When Hunger reaches zero, the mount dies.
Keeping your mount fed is essential for long-term ownership.
Loyalty
Loyalty represents the bond between you and your mount.
If Loyalty reaches zero, the mount will not die immediately. However, it can no longer function properly until Loyalty is restored using Recovery Meat.
A loyal mount performs better, lasts longer and remains a dependable companion.
Free Starter Period
When a mount is equipped for the first time it receives:
- 7 Days Hunger
- 7 Days Loyalty
This allows new owners to begin using their mount immediately without requiring any upkeep items.
The Feeding System
Mount upkeep uses two slots.
Slot 1 – Sustain
This is the primary feeding slot.
Food placed here determines how long Hunger or Loyalty can be maintained before requiring additional supplies.
Think of Slot 1 as your mount’s main source of survival.
Slot 2 – Specialisation
Slot 2 allows you to customise how your mount behaves.
You can choose between:
- Efficiency Herbs
- Bond Herbs
- Speed Spices
- Emergency Survival Options
Think of Slot 2 as your mount’s upgrade slot.
Feed in Slot 1. Specialise in Slot 2.
Grace Period Protection
When a Slot 1 sustain item expires, a 24-hour grace period begins.
During this time you may add a new sustain item without immediately losing Hunger or Loyalty.
If no replacement is provided before the grace period ends, the relevant meter will reach zero.
This system protects players from missing a timer by a few hours while still requiring regular maintenance.
Hunger Herbs
Herbs reduce Hunger drain and increase the lifespan of your feeding items.
Higher tier herbs provide stronger reductions.
The rarest herb also contains a special emergency protection effect designed to prevent an immediate mount death once.
Players who want maximum mount longevity should focus on Hunger Herbs.
Bond Herbs
Bond Herbs reduce Loyalty drain.
They are ideal for players who want stable, low-maintenance mounts and reduced upkeep costs over time.
The stronger the Bond Herb, the longer your mount remains loyal before requiring additional attention.
Speed Spices
Speed Spices are designed for players who want maximum mobility.
These items increase mount speed but come with a trade-off.
Every speed increase causes Loyalty to drain faster.
Example
A powerful Spice may provide:
- Increased movement speed
- Faster travel
- Higher Loyalty consumption
The faster you push your mount, the more attention it requires.
Players must decide whether convenience is worth the additional upkeep cost.
Recovery Meat
Recovery Meat is used when Loyalty reaches zero.
These items quickly restore Loyalty and allow the mount to return to normal operation.
Recovery Meat acts as an emergency recovery option rather than a permanent feeding solution.
Mount Roles and Trade-Offs
All mount templates have been redesigned around strengths and weaknesses.
There is no single “best” mount.
Some mounts focus on:
- Raw speed
- Fast running
- Attack speed
- Lower upkeep
- Easier maintenance
Others trade efficiency for stronger performance.
Even the rarest mount is only slightly stronger overall than other top-tier choices.
Your choice of mount should be based on your preferred play style rather than simply selecting the highest-tier option.
