BEHIND THE CURTAIN
The balance tools · Closed beta only · Gone before launch
https://mirvengeance.com/hunting-stats
Every private server says it's "balanced". Most of them mean somebody played it for an afternoon and it felt fine.
We don't guess. Every kill, every drop, every coin that hits the floor is logged by the game server, and we've built ourselves a set of pages that turn all of it into something we can read at a glance. For the rest of the beta, we're letting you look over our shoulder.
These pages are notstaying public. They're our tools, not a player feature, and they come down before the server goes live. Have a nose around while you can.
What you can see
- Hunting stats: the whole server, live. Kills, exp, drops, gold, deaths, cave runs, updating every 15 seconds as people play.
- Drop balance: every item that has dropped, set against what the drop tables say should have dropped for the exact monsters killed, and against similar items. If one ring is dropping far more often than every other ring of its grade, it lights up red.
- Monster balance: every cave and every map, monster by monster. How many we planned to spawn against how many actually die, exp per kill, exp for its HP, gold, items. If one monster in a cave pays double its neighbours, or something is turning up where it was never meant to spawn, it gets flagged.
It's already caught something
Have a look at exp per kill by monster level, across the whole beta:
- Level 50–54 monsters: about 25,600 exp per kill.
- Level 55–59 monsters: about 20,800 exp per kill.
- Level 60–64 monsters: about 79,400 exp per kill.
Spot the problem. The 55–59 caves are harder than the 50–54 ones and pay less. On paper those monsters are worth around 40,000 each, and only about half of that is reaching you. That's a hole in the curve right where you should be grinding towards 60, and nobody would have spotted it from "it feels a bit slow". It stuck out of a chart in about two seconds.
It's on the list. When it's fixed, you'll see the line straighten out on the same page.
Why bother showing you?
Because when we change a drop rate or an exp value, we want you to know it wasn't a whim. You can see the same numbers we see, and why something moved.
And because you're the ones generating the data. Every kill on the beta makes these pages sharper. If something looks off to you, a monster that feels too generous or a drop that never seems to come, check the pages, and reply here with what you found.
If there is a stat you would like to see, let us know and we will add it.
