Movement will stop pulling you backwards

    MOVEMENT
Next server restart, and a new client at the same time. Not live yet.
When the server is busy, your character keeps walking on your screen. The server then answers late and says you are still on an old square. The game pulls you back across the screen. That pull is the bounce.

After the next restart, with the new client
    • You take one step, and the next one waits until the server agrees, refuses, or a second passes with no answer.
    • If the server agrees, the answer has no map square in it. A late reply cannot drag you backwards.
    • If the server refuses the step, you go back one square, to where that step started. A wall, a closed door, or someone standing in the way of a walk does that.
    • A run can pass through a monster, another player, or a hero. A walk still stops when someone is standing on the square. Walls, doors, and shopkeepers still stop you.
    • A teleport, a map change, a push, a death, or a login still puts you on the exact square the server has.
    • A busy moment still makes the next step wait. You then carry on from where you are.
This is not on the live server yet. The restart and the new client have to happen together. The client is not on the patcher yet. Until both are out, movement stays as it is today.

This is live. The server restarted at about 16:20 UK today. The follow-up is here: https://mirvengeance.com/forums/foru...-november-2026 A run stops on a monster that is actually standing on the square. It still crosses another player or a hero. The next step waits for the server's answer. There is no one-second timer that plays the step anyway. — Vengeance
